Adur 2012 is a very pale straw in color with a greenish hint. The nose offers green apple, green plum and herb notes. The palate is crisp, bright and very lively with only the slightest hint of fizz. On the mid-palate zesty lime, saline and mineral tones emerge with a richness and intensity unusual for Txakoli, which carries into a long, complex and smooth finish. A beautiful expression of what the native Basque grape Hondarrabia Zuri can achieve when treated seriously. WA 90

Adur is a very small, vineyard-driven winery comprised of small plots set in the hills overlooking the seaside Basque town of Getaria in the north of Spain. Their dedication to their vineyards and non-interventionist approach make for a deeper style of Txakoli—more akin to single vineyard Sancerre than lighter more frizzante, traditional Txakoli.
